Short Story
Kristoff, Anna, and Sven
Kristoff was in a bad mood. It was never good to have him in a bad mood.
“SVEN! OUT OF MY WAY!” he cried, giving a deathly glare to his reindeer friend. He snorted in a disgusted reply before trotting a little ways off to go sniff the snow over there. Kristoff rolled his eyes and continued to make a path through the soft white material with his muzzle. He didn't want to lose his way up the mountain because of how high they were.
He wasn't watching where he was going and ended up finding a small sinkhole, losing his grip and falling into a bowl of fluffy snow.
“SVEN!” Kristoff called, scrambling to get out of his predicament. A rope was placed through the snow, and he was very thankful someone could help him. But as he stumbled out of the hole, he ran into Anna.
“What are you doing up here?! It’s extremely dangerous!” she scolded, giving Kristoff a glare. “You could have died!”
He put his ears back and blushed slightly but regained his posture and frowned. “I have Sven with me. He can always lift me out of the snow.” He flicked his tail back and forth in impatience.
Anna rolled her eyes. “Yeah right. He’s off playing in the ice hanging off the trees. I ran into him while making my way up here.”
Kristoff raised an eyebrow. “Why were you coming up here in the first place? You should be at home, resting.” He sighed and started to tunnel his way through the snow again, being more careful this time.
The girl snuffed and sat down, watching the other Sima with slight amusement. “Why would I be resting? I've been indoors all week long.” She tilted her head and wrapped her cape around her a little more tightly.
“Well...uh…” Kristoff wanted to say what he wanted but didn't so Anna wouldn't kill him. “Nevermind,” he replied quickly, continuing to shuffle through the snow. But he wasn't finding what he wanted, so he sat down with a thump and sighed.
Anna furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. She would make her company talk. Standing up she shook off the snow gathered on her head and back, trotting over to him. “Tell me what you were going to say mister or I’ll ruin your little track here.” She placed a paw near the line as a warning as she glared at him.
Kristoff widened his eyes and stuttered for a moment before turning around to face her. “W-well, uh…you were up her with me for…uh, a long time and I just, uh...wanted you to recover from the snow you got caught in.” He let out a breath he had been holding and sat on the ground, not realizing how cold it would be, cringing at the sudden change.
Anna sighed and started to head back home. “I’m stronger than you think, Kristoff. Now come on, we need to get you home before lunch. Sven looks hungry and if you leave him out there any longer he might just collapse in the snow.” She bounded up ahead, her cape whipping around.
Kristoff took in a deep breath and reluctantly started to follow the girl back. He hoped Sven was alright, but at the same time he wanted to just stay away from the reindeer for a while. He hadn’t been alone by himself for a while, and he never got to spend some time alone with Anna, so it was troubling for him. But as the three finally came back to Arendelle, he smiled to himself. He would figure out something. He just had to figure out what.
